Lets get Inky .............

Happy Friday everyone, can you believe another week has whizzed by and it's almost the weekend again.  Olivia, if you're reading this, loved our chat this morning and I did come home, grab a coffee and get bloggin' no G lol!!! (A Radio 2 Friday thing if you're a listener).
Last weekend I was invited along to host a workshop as the celebrity guest at the UK Stampers Network 20th Anniversary event down in Bicester.  Mickey, thanks so much for the invite and ladies it was great to meet you all.  What a fab anniversary event it was.  Lots of creative workshops, oodles of cake, fab chit chat and a really tasty Chinese too.

Here's Mickey, the founder of the UK Stampers Network holding the Anniversary cake - it was soooooo tasty..
and all the ladies at the event
If you follow me you'll know I'm a paper girl first and foremost, but as I was at a stamping event thought we'd make A6 notebooks and create fun inky, stampy covers for them.  What a great time we had smooching the gloriously green Peeled Paint oxide ink around, stitching, binding and fussy cutting  our books into shape.  I love that we all started with the same ingredients and the books all looked so different. Here's a few pics
Jane and Mickey on the fussy cutting :-)
Enjoy using your notebooks ladies :-)

Fun ideas for your crafty projects

Portrait of a Lady Album Clare Charvill Graphic 45

Morning everyone, we've woken up to sunshine this morning after a very wet and rainy week here. I've been running an early morning taxi service for Oli as his car is really poorly, and have to say despite my moaning (lol!!) I've enjoyed the early starts to my days. ......
Today I thought I'd share a couple of fun videos on how to make slider cards and create neat magnetic closures for your projects.  I included both ideas in some of my latest projects, we've had fun making them in recent workshops and I finally got round to doing the videos for them yesterday.

Little boxes.............

I've been updating samples of my products for my show stand and decided to use papers from the Portrait of a Lady collection on some of the boxes from our range. I've gone for a green theme (my all time favourite colour) and coordinated a mix of papers together for different looks on each of the boxes. It's such a pretty collection with so many options for co ordinating colour and designs, I have to admit it took me a while to decide on which papers to put with which and I love how they all work so well together.
A while ago Sophie (the new girlie in the family) asked if I would make beautiful things for her once she had a house to put them in.  Now that's happening I decided to alter the large box (above) into a Memory Box for her.  She loves it and was really touched that I'd added the date of her first date with Oli.  Here's a few more pictures of it taken from various angles:

The number stickers were perfect for the date on the front of the box.  I've got a bit of a stash of vintage G45 large letter stickers that were perfect for the wording in the lid. I'll have to create another sample for the stand once this one heads off to it's new home.  See below for the supply list.

The medium sized box is our This N that Box with it's sliding trinket tray and the teeny weeny one is my original ATC Box filled with the most amazing ATC's made for me by the lovely ladies in Milford Haven.

I had to share them all with you - what a fabulous range of techniques and media used on them all.  Each one has a special message on the reverse too, and I got to come home with some welsh dragons to add to my little collection too.   Thank you ladies - I love them all.

June Giveaway

Master Detective Mini Album and Case 1 Clare Charvill Graphic 45

Hellllooooooo my lovely crafty friends.  I'm back from a longer than planned, really enjoyable break from crafting. It's all change here, Sophie (Oli's girlfriend) has moved in ahead of their move to their new house together, Oli's started a new job yesterday and Harry is about to come home for the summer having finished his first year at Uni.  I thought it would be a good time to de-clutter the house and seem to have spent the best part of three weeks making trips to charity shops and the tip around some long overdue gardening and all the other jobs that needed doing around the house too.
Now the new paper collections from G45 are here in the UK whop whop, I thought I'd challenge myself to make a project using one 8 x 8 Master Detective Pad just to get a feel for the papers and how to work the designs together, and here it is.
In true G45 style there's a hint of Halloween threaded through this Sherlock Holmes themed collection, along with fabulous prints and colours, which are perfect for projects for those guys in our life as well as the girlies.

I've created the case from our 8x 8 Shadow Box kit, added a recessed front and then used chipboard sheets to cut the album covers and spine for the book inside. Both are assembled using my black construction tape - which makes it quick to get to the exciting bit - cutting up those papers and decorating lol!!!
The mini album is a smaller version of the larger 11" album I designed back in April with a couple of changes and additions :-).  At the end of the project there was a full sheet and a half left over, along with a few random strips.  The cover is take 2, I didn't like the first one I put together - it's funny how you know something is wrong!!!
Here's a few more pictures, the supply list and product links.
